The Monster We Create

A monster is spreading. A monster that, in truth, is not a monster at all. It is made into one. By whom? By all those who believe themselves to be good. By those who are convinced that evil exists somewhere in the other. But the truth is: everything exists within you.

You are one of many people on this planet, and there is someone who does not sit well with you. Their behaviour, their lifestyle, the way they speak about others. Perhaps they are unfair at work, perhaps they make life difficult for others. What this person needs, fundamentally, is the same as you: awareness. Not condemnation, but consciousness.

For we are not fighting a battle against people. We are fighting an inner battle between heaven and hell, between love and fear, between the True Self and the wounded ego.

If you choose love, your True Self, God, then you know which side you stand on. This decision is not made once and for all; it must be made anew each day. Otherwise, you remain at the mercy of your unconscious forces.

Something has prevented this person from moving into love. Perhaps old wounds, perhaps disappointments that were never truly allowed to heal. Perhaps they are stuck in their past without even realising it. And then it happens: they may even achieve success, recognition, a promotion. All the more reason to devalue them internally. Now you could prove to yourself that they are “not lovable.” Now you could strike out — inwardly or outwardly.

But pause. This person is showing you your shadows. You thought you were a good person? Perhaps. But you are only human, like everyone else — and that is precisely where your opportunity lies.

Practise humility. Recognise the spiritual gift that is meeting you here, not because the other person’s behaviour is good, but because it reveals how far you yourself have already come in love.

You can be grateful to all those you resent, for they bring you into contact with your unhealed issues, with precisely those places within you where you are invited to decide who you want to be. God cannot forgive, because God knows no guilt. That is not within His domain. It arises from the human ego.

And each time you choose compassion, you bring a piece of heaven to this earth — not by being right, but through love.

No. This person triggers your darkest parts. They bring to the surface exactly what you would rather not see. You thought you were a good person? Then look more closely. You are not better than the others. You are right in the middle of it. And that is the uncomfortable truth — and at the same time your greatest opportunity.

Allow yourself to recognise this. Practise humility. For this is where it becomes clear how much love truly lives within you when things become difficult — not when everything is easy.

This person offers themselves to you as a mirror. They show you how much light or darkness still exists within you. Not to make you small, but to awaken you.

You can be grateful to all those you resent. For they lead you directly to your unhealed issues. It is precisely there that you are invited to decide who you want to be — not in your beautiful thoughts, but in real life.

So be honest with yourself. And turn inward.

Thank you for your interest in my work,
